Interests

Themba: Last year I was in Cairo and spent most of my time at the Sudanese protest downtown in Mohandiseen. Now I'm in Oxford which seems really far away. I wrote a report with some friends on the situation facing Sudanese refugees in Cairo that can be found here - http://www.aucegypt.edu/fmrs/documents/FMRSReportonRefugeeProtest_002.pdf

*Ahjung--hey guys! I'm Ahjung, and I am originally from Seoul, South Korea, but lived 10 years of my life in Canada (Vancouver and Toronto). I have worked for NGOs in development, human rights, and refugee issues, and I am enjoying being a graduate student in UK. I am a pianist/singer (classic, world music, and improv stuf). I'm still trying to figure out what I wanna do with my life.....!!!

Seevun: I'm from Los Angeles (born and raised) and did my undergraduate degree at the University of Southern California in International Relations, Peace and Conflict Studies and Sociology. More recently I worked for an LA based NGO doing international democracy-development work. In my spare time, of which I don't have much lately, I play basketball (I was quite good in high school), watch movies, and sleep...

*Andrea, but you can call me Andrejka, Andruska, Ada or Adula, I come from Slovakia and names there, for better or worse, can be twisted into million variations :) Most of my life, I lived in Slovakia, but in past years I studied, interned and worked in the US, Italy and now UK. I studied psychology/politics/international relations, and enjoy learning about refugee and immigration issues. I love dancing, all kinds of drawing and a (paper)cup of really good coffee machine capuccino!!

We have set up this page for a research methods
project, which is in partial fulfilment of our degree at the Refugee Studies
Centre (RSC) in Oxford University, England.

WHAT WE ARE INTERESTED IN:
- Do a lot of refugees use the internet networking sites like this one?
- Who do people usually communicate/connect with through these sites?
(friends, relatives, acquaintances, possile dates, ...)
- What do people especially like about these sites?

That was just a joke. I do not speak all of those languages but speak Sudanic Arabic, Swahili, Dinka and my mother tongue (Nuer)
