It depends on what part of Africa u're in really. whatever U choose to do in Nigeria, make sure U get a generating plant plus funds for maintainance, e.t.c. ... and U may need to bribe here and there to get a license to operate

Hmmm i see agriculture as a good bussinessin in africa it's less expensive and if you have the right land which i know africa is blessed with good and productive soil.If you want to do better, make it a local and international bussiness. Take a look at Agentina today they are number one Rice producer in the world and with it they were able to building for themselve what other nations cant take away!Being a coperate person i do farming business tho not that big but my mum is managing it well i started this since i was in hight school it's been very supportive i am thinking of doing bigger . hmm I have heard of somebody thinking of this mobile social network before. If I give you an idea how will we work together? I am all for progress and willing to enrich my land rather than take from it. As we already know nigeria's wealth not only lies in the energy or oil business but in the human resources. if you manage to help the people of the land whilst bettering the land I am there to support. I have an idea though!

@All - I know going into business sounds like the best investment that most people wanna achieve. NOW PLEASE DON'T GET ME WRONG for am not trying to be negative or to discourage anyone on this post but just trying to get y'alls Opinion on this self business issue.
PERSONALLY I think that the best thing for people to do would be to invest and nature on what a country already has and hence give it a Strong based foundation. Reasons as to why am saying this is cause I've recently noticed that majority of the African countries are now have large Chinese investments and if not then already have Chinese laborers either already settled or announcing their future plans based on African Countries.
Don't get me wrong for am not saying that they should be feared but in all terms all countries should keep an eye on these people. They are quickly spreading and wiping out other countries like a plague. This is a country that ONCE got their goods from us and now we get ALL our goods from them. ONCE came here to look for jobs, and now ALL our jobs have been outsourced to them. In the long run they ONCE owed Americans + other European countries debt and now we not only borrow from them but owe them in debt for they swept us away like a plague, sent a whole nation to a credit crunch and e.t.c.
Now am not trying to blame China for all our issues but just stating facts. Yes many may say Americans are Lazy and what forth not - for I have heard it before, but that out aside the bottom line is that we were clearly OUTSMARTED.
Now that they are done, and have reaped more than they could saw, do you think it would be best for people to put a strong hold on what they already have and that way all investment is put within ONES country, laborers hired form within, Manufacturing plants operated from within and not outsourced but instead create mergers and have all top dogs from the home country and that way the only thing that leaves the country is the end product that markets out and brings in more revenue, and this way the company does not have to hire all international contractors in case of internal issues making it more costly for the home country?
This way in a situation where a large company is outsourced the similar smaller companies do not crumble,for chances are customers tend to follow what they are satisfied and most comfortable with. Or where the market is over-saturated causing for all international companies to offer something ""better"" that whats in the current market? This way we all get to think TWICE before our jobs are outsourced or before we hire international labor.
My opinion {{ and i strongly stress that this is just ma opinion}} would be to find a business that you would enjoy doing and partnership with one already doing that this way foundations are stronger and more reliable. Later buy shares and have some rights in the future. I know we would all love to work for ourselves but where would this self employment be if the market was exploited?
